EARTH DAY ASSEMBLY
“The wealth of the nation is its air, water, soil, forests, minerals, rivers, lakes, oceans, scenic beauty, wildlife habitats and biodiversity... that’s all there is. That’s the whole economy. That’s where all the economic activity and jobs come from. These biological systems are the sustaining wealth of the world.” - Gaylord Nelson
Our Mother Earth has her own day of celebration which falls on April 22nd every year. It's a day when we pause to think about the environment. It’s a great day to showcase environmental education, highlight efforts to green the school and engage the whole student community in making a difference.
Keeping the same message in mind, a special assembly was conducted at Presidium, Faridabad on April 20, 2018 which conveyed the message towards protecting our precious earth and its valuable resources, so that they can be available to us and our posterity for the years to come.
The special assembly not only brought together the students on a same plane in uniting their voice against nonchalance towards environment, but also was instrumental in underscoring the urgency of the situation. A small skit was presented by the senior students. Various issues like noise, air and water pollution were beautifully conveyed through the skit where the Earth was personified as a sick person. The children’s endeavour was greatly appreciated and lauded by the honourable Principal. She also reminded the children of their responsibilities towards Mother Earth and administered a pledge to protect and save our fast depleting natural resources. The celebration culminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
