SPECIAL ASSEMBLY – BAISAKHI (GRADE P.NUR – XII)
“THE GREATEST COMFORTS AND LASTING PEACE ARE OBTAINED, WHEN ONE ERADICATES SELFISHNESS FROM WITHIN”
India is a land of diversities where people of different religions and cultures live in harmony. This harmony is seen in the celebration of festivals. Each and every festival has a significance of its own. One such festival giving the message of love and brotherhood is Baisakhi. Baisakhi is a harvest festival, as it marks the maturing of the rabi crop when farmers begin harvesting the grain. The farmers also express their gratitude to God for a generous yield. For the Sikhs, Baisakhi holds even greater significance as it commemorates the day, when the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, established the Khalsa Panth.
Thus, in keeping with our tradition of celebrating all festivals with fervour and gaiety, the children of DPSG, Faridabad organised a special assembly in a grand manner on account of Baisakhi wherein the students actively participated and performed on varied items like dance, songs and much more. The children came forward to speak about the significance of this important festival and also explained how and why Baisakhi is considered to be a New Year in Punjab. Lauding the efforts of the children and staff, our honorable Principal Madam enlightened the students with her pearls of wisdom and apprised the children about the importance of this festival. She further encouraged them to be determined and work relentlessly to pursue their dreams and goals.
